| Banner Farm | An adult webpage which contains nothing but banners. |
| Blur Consoles | Think of a 'Blur console' as a stealth console - creeping under your surfer's radars undetected! These 'stealth' consoles load secretly behind the window the surfer is currently looking at. They are sometimes called 'pop-under consoles' and are almost the opposite of pop-up consoles. While the famous pop-up loads when the surfer leaves your site - the blur loads as soon as they enter it. The idea plan is that when Joe Surfer leaves your website (for one reason or another) you'll get yet another chance to sell something to them. It's a bit like if you were reading a letter - and someone crept in and put an extra page under the pieces of paper you were reading. When you turned the last page - you'd be looking at this bit of paper they'd slid underneath. |
| Bandwidth | Bandwidth is to do with hosting. It's a commodity that can't be seen - a bit like electricity. Every time someone downloads a picture from your website, bandwidth is used. (Just like every time you turn on a light, electricity is used). Bandwidth is measured in the same way as file sizes are.
Example: If a surfer downloads a picture from your webspace, and the picture is 150kb in size, you have used 150kb of bandwidth. |
| Banner | A small image that appears on a webpage. A banner is an advert for a website, product, or service. This small image will usually be linked to a place that could make you money. Banners have been on the web since it's beginning almost, and are still used today to send horny surfers off to places where they MIGHT just start making you money. |
