A host (website hosting provider) will supply you with virtual real estate, in cyberspace, where your websites will be broadcast from. Without a host - your webpages would never be seen by the rest of the world! A host will provide you with disk space on the Internet (much like your hard drive) and bandwidth (see bandwidth). Once uploaded, your site will be available over the internet 24 hours a day. Adult website hosting is more affordable now than it ever has been - with basic starter packages starting at around $10 per month. There are many excellent hosts around at the moment too. But be sure to get recommendations from other adult webmasters, already using that host, before you sign-up. Quality can vary wildly from one host to the next and the last thing you need is to be stuck with a host where your sites will be constantly unavailable.

Htaccess is a small file which, when uploaded to your website, can do a number of cool things. It can send 'lost' surfers to a page of your choosing, stop devious webmasters from linking illegally to your website content, and ask users for a password before they are allowed to enter certain areas of your site. It's not so much a computer program as a set of guides for your web server to follow. Htaccess itself is just a plain text file that has been saved as ".htaccess". Your web server will recognize this file, and then look at whatever instructions you have put in there for it to follow.

Oftentimes, sponsor programs will host pre-made TGP Galleries for you on their bandwidth with your referral ID embedded in the page. Costs you nothing to send traffic to these galleries. Most Thumbnail Gallery Posts will not accepted sponsor hosted galleries.
