Unique (Click / Visitor)
You could say that a visitor to your website that is 'unique' is one who is visiting for the first time EVER. This is only partly true. Like goldfish - websites have a short memory! The owner of the website can specify what a unique visitor actually IS. Let's look at an example: Imagine you have a counter on your website which is set up to count how many people are visiting your site. We could have things set up so that a 'unique' visitor is someone who has NOT paid a visit for at least 48 hours. If Joe Surfer were to visit every hour, the counter would recognize him, and he would not be classed as being a 'unique visitor' (The counter remembers that this surfer has been here recently). He would still be classed as "one visit" to the site - one UNIQUE visit. After 48 hours, everything would be reset. If that surfer came to visit 48 hours since his last visit - he would be then classed again as a unique visitor. Unique visitors or 'unique clicks' are the opposite to RAW clicks. (See Raw Click).
